Slender, spiky and 47 m tall, this is what Hindu Java built to answer Buddhist Borobudur, and the two sit half an hour apart. The Ramayana reliefs run around the inner walls, and in dry season they stage the whole epic as an outdoor ballet with the towers lit behind the stage.
